Full HD 1080P
Full HD, or 1080p, contains 1.5 times more scanning lines than conventional HD TVs. More scanning lines mean more pixels, more details and a better picture. The new Samsung LCD TV with resolution that is approximately 2 times greater than conventional HDTVs, creating the most perfect picture imaginable.
Samsung’s 1080p panel uses a new high-speed liquid crystal to cut response time to 4ms. The fast response time, coupled with Samsung’s Auto Motion Plus 120Hz motion blur reduction technology dramatically reduces motion blur and judder.
Breakthrough LED Picture Quality
Compared to a traditional CCFL, LEDs produce darker blacks that appear endlessly deep to the eye. Whites also remain crisp and bright with vivid colors. The result is picture quality that measures up to the natural beauty of life. For instance, Samsung’s Wide Color Enhancer Pro feature lets consumers enjoy a broader color palette. The Ultra Clear Panel further allows the preservation of every detail even in brightly-lit, imperfect viewing conditions. Eco-Friendly
The benefits of using LEDs include not only improved picture quality, but also reduced power consumption levels to easily meet the stringent new Energy Star v3.0 guidelines. The LED modules are mercury-free, which makes for cleaner manufacturing and safer recycling when compared with backlight technologies currently available. In the LED HDTV line, energy consumption is reduced by 40 percent versus traditional LCD HDTVs of a similar size. The LED HDTVs also include a power indicator menu, and an optimized energy savings mode. In addition, these TVs require less material to manufacture and are thinner, reducing packing material and consumer waste. The smaller packaging allows for more units to be shipped and less fuel to be consumed at a time which potentially reduces Samsung’s carbon footprint.
Auto Motion Plus 120Hz
This technology doubles the frame rate from 60 to 120 frames per second (120Hz LCD panel) without repeating the same image to make more frames. Instead, the TV intelligently calculates the ‘middle’ image between frame A and frame B and inserts it in between (Auto Motion Plus 120Hz processor), making a fluid transition from one frame to the next.
Touch of Color
In 2008, Samsung created its unique Touch of Color (ToC) design, which uses dual-injection molding to coat a translucent, colored surface to achieve an attractive crystalline appearance. The latest evolution of Samsung’s ToC design begins with a deep piano black bezel that fades into distinct chrome that finishes as light ruby highlights on the 7000 and 7000 Series LED HDTVs. The intensity of the color subtly changes depending upon the viewing angle, and further accentuates these TV’s slim bezels.

Pros:
1- amazing size to performance ratio. This TV is incredibly thin. You will have to see it to believe it. At just over an inch thick (not to mention 55″ from corner to corner), this television boasts some of the best stats available, compared to any other brands/models out there.
2-LED back lighting. This feature is what initially caught my eye. When I first saw it I noticed immediately how incredibly deep the blacks were. This boost in depth of the color plate seems to permeate the entire color spectrum, allowing for deeper, more remarkable fullness when viewing all forms content.
3- base statistics. The contrast ratio (although I have read many conflicting, reports, including the manufactures own specification information, which makes it difficult to place an exact quantitative value), 120hz, 1080p, 4 millisecond response time, USB x2 connections, LAN access, ect… They are all there. This television has the capabilities to seamlessly bind your computer or local area network and your home theater into a truly coherent “media center” provided you have the gumption.
4- “Xbrite” like display. I call it this for lack of a better option. The screen itself of this LCD is not matted like many of its predecessors, it is glossy resembling a plasma TV or some of its smaller LCD PC monitor cousins, which allows it a brighter, fuller color clarity. This could be considered as “bothersome” by some because it allows for more apparent reflections of light, casting it back into the viewers eye, but the shear intensity of light emitted by this TV puts this claim to rest.
Cons:
1- Menus. After spending multiple hours removing my previous television, measuring and cutting holes in walls, fuddling with cables, and vacuuming dust bunnies and drywall dust, I found my self at the heart of my disappointment with this TV. Navigating the menu system. Don’t get me wrong, it is not difficult, but it is entirely cumbersome. To start off a simple task like switching sources is made time consuming and attracts attention because you have to hit a minimum of 3 buttons on the remote to switch to your closest input. This may seem like someone complaining that you have to turn the faucet on to fill a glass of water but just play with it for a bit and you will see what I am talking about. The menus themselves are all animated and take a moment to load, which adds to the frustration when trying to navigate through them, and when you get to the input you want you have to manually exit the menu by pressing the “enter” or “return” button on the remote. This problem could have been easily alleviated by having shortcut buttons to the individual inputs on the remote, like most other manufactures offer.
2-Sound. The sound quality is greatly deteriorated by the fact that the speakers on this model face the opposite direction of the screen. Reverberation off a wall is not an adequate substitution for direct focus. The sound quality is not bad in itself, such as being boxy, tinny or deteriorating with increased volume, it is just not as full as others that I have heard (but this is to be expected being the form factor that it is). It will be necessary to have a surround sound system with this TV, but you probably already have one if you are seriously looking at this model.
3 Limitation of inputs. For some insane reason, Samsung preemptively decided which inputs (HDMI) you could use for which devices and placed limitations on those inputs as they saw fit. This is entirely lame and a let down. Scrolling through the menu selections on various HDMI inputs you will notice that a good majority or your picture modifications are not adjustable according to what input you have currently selected. Despite changing the labels of the inputs and reorganizing HDMI inputs, you are not able to get the full gamut of picture corrections that you payed a lot of money for. This, for me, is the biggest let down of the television. There is nothing worse than seeing a whole slue of options that are supposedly available, but are “grayed out” for some unknown reason. I expect, at this price and ability, to be able to fully customize each input that the televesion has, regardless of what peripheral I am connecting to it.
This con might not prevent you from purchasing this TV, but you should be at least aware of it. I have a lot of different devices connected at any given time, ie. blue ray, dvd, vhs, xbox 360, ps3, wii, xbox, n64, psx, snes, nes, pc, camcorder, camera, and some flash based devices, like some of the newer ipods/iphones, and it really bothers me that I cannot change the settings to what ever fits my needs best.
4- Dynamic contrast. This feature seems to be a blessing and a bit of a curse. On one hand you get dark, rich colors, and on the other you get much darker whites when the majority of the screen is dark in hue. You only need to scroll through the menu system of the TV on a static, dark background to see this flaw in action. How dynamic contrast works is that it lowers the backlighting of the television when it senses most of what it is displaying is dark, which makes any contrast in hues, i.e. whites to blacks, much darker than they would normally be. This may not be a deal breaker for some, but depending on what you watch, there is a noticeable difference. I personally like to watch a lot of the space/nasa documentaries, and when they show Hubble images of deep space that are for the most part black, with just a few pin points of light, you notice that that you are loosing quality/brightness of image (as compared to other flat panels without this dynamic contrast perk).
5- Lack of inputs. This downfall is the price you pay for having such a small form factor I guess. 4 HDMI is ok, minus them all being individually limited, but there is only one component in, no composite/S video in at all and the stereo out is a 3.5mm jack so you need an adapter, which is not included. The TV does have optical audio out, so if you have a somewhat capable/newer surround sound system you will be ok, provided you spend the money and buy the expensive cabling to connect it (heaven forbid that your receiver is more than a few feet away or else you are going to feel it in your wallet). Another problem that all of these digital connections bring, that is rarely advertised, is that there is a lot more optimization involved to make them work normally. Say “good by” to just plugging things in and having them work. If you don’t have a lot of patients for reading user manuals or trial and error, it might be necessary to pay the extra cost for having some “Geek” come to your house and make everything work properly for you.
Another slight annoyance is that this TV does not offer any sort of video out. A slight inconvenience really, but I would like to keep my options open.
6- 120 hz it more like “beauty is in the eye of the beholder”. Some people like its effects on movies/games, I personally have turn it off to make the TV look normal to me. You really need to evaluate the feature for your self and make a decision. For me, it looks like it increases the frame rate at times and slows it down in others, which gives the overall viewing quality a “hurky-jerky” feel. Others that have seen the feature on my TV say it gives it more of a 3D quality or that it is more like looking out a window, as apposed to viewing a TV. Its effect is much more noticeable while viewing certain media such as , blue ray, DVD’s or video games. I can barely notice it while watching HD/SD content from Comcast (1080i/480p respectively).
7-”Media Center” short comings. What, no youtube? Even my phone has that. I would also like to see WMC connectivity, a flash enabled web browser, and come to think of it, bluetooth, so you can connect a qwarty keyboard to actually take advantage of it all. This would truly bump this TV into an upper eschelon, rivaled by no other device to date.
Summary
All in all, I think this TV is feature rich with a few let downs that could be corrected with a bit of ingenuity (hopefully made possible in the way of firmware upgrades, putting the LAN feature to good use). I would not personally recommend this TV to any of may friends because I would not want to hear them complain, but I would tell them to come over, play with it and decide for themselves if it is the right choice for them. Knowing what I know now it would be hard to say if I would upgrade again from what I had previously (LG 50px4dr) to this TV, but I can truthfully say that the picture quality on most devices (cable, xbox 360 and others (NOT PLAYSTATION 3, I get a weird snowy pixelated effect on the home screen that drives me crazy and was the reason I bought a new TV in the first place)) is vastly superior to most other televisions that I have seen. The bottom line is that you need to play with this television for a bit before you purchase.

The benefits of using LEDs include not only improved picture quality, but also reduced power consumption levels to easily meet the stringent new Energy Star v3.0 guidelines. The LED modules are mercury-free, which makes for cleaner manufacturing and safer recycling when compared with backlight technologies currently available. In the LED HDTV line, energy consumption is reduced by 40 percent versus traditional LCD HDTVs of a similar size. The LED HDTVs also include a power indicator menu, and an optimized energy savings mode. Auto Motion Plus 120Hz
This technology doubles the frame rate from 60 to 120 frames per second (120Hz LCD panel) without repeating the same image to make more frames. Instead, the TV intelligently calculates the ‘middle’ image between frame A and frame B and inserts it in between (Auto Motion Plus 120Hz processor), making a fluid transition from one frame to the next.

My requirement for a television is quite simple: plug it in to the cable box and have it work the first time; then turn on the sports event of the day, e.g. Mets or Yankees, Jets or Giants, etc. The Samsung 46 inch LED TV does that very well. You plug it in, it works.
This TV does more with less. It weighs only about 40 pounds plus another 10 pounds for the stand. Compare that with the older Samsung 950 model of the same size which weighs 70 pounds. The elegant stand allows for easy rotation. The TV is only a little over one inch thick! Power consumption has been measured by reviewers at about 105 watts. The 950 model comes in at 180 watts.
The picture is great. The contrast ratio, rated at 3,000,000 to 1, exceeds that of older LCD TVs. The black areas are dark and the picture has an almost 3D quality. There are four preset picture options. I chose the “normal” setting. The next higher setting, “standard”, makes infield grass look almost dayglow. I do not think that there is a need to have any further adjustment done on the picture. However, there is an automatic dimming of the overall brightness for dark scenes. For instance, when the credits of a movie run against a black background the lettering becomes dimmer. This has no effect on sports, but does effect dark movie scenes.
The screen surface does reduce reflections but does not eliminate them entirely. The black frame is shiny and does also reflect some light. Rotating the screen to the best angle helps.
The remote provides choices for four picture size variations. I use “16:9″ for the HD format or “wide” to make the non-HD, 4:3, video fill the screen. That loses some of the 4:3 picture at the top and bottom edges, but the picture quality is still good.
The sound also has four preset choices. Although, the internal speakers are not bad, I decided to use my sound system for the audio. The TV has an audio output connection, but the TV remote volume control only allows variation in the sound level for the internal speakers. The audio output stays at a constant level. I got around this by taking the audio from my cable box directly to my sound system and controlling the level with the cable remote. This works.
Although Samsung provides a version of the instruction manual on a USB drive with the TV, I found it easy to download and print a pdf of the manual from the Samsung support center. Having the printed manual is helpful. (See my comment for the web address of the support center.)
After one month, I still really like this TV. It is great for sports. An added bonus is that my electric bill has actually gone down.
Note that there is a similiar 7000 model. The 7000 model differs from the 6000 model in its I/O capabilities. Recently some people have reported that the 7000 has a better picture. If you do not need the extras, go with the 6000 and save a few dollars.

I want to start off by warning everyone that this is my first HDTV ever, so I have nothing to compare it to other than regular old school 4:3 CRT televisions.
I bought this TV Friday, May 8th, 2009.
The main thing about this Samsung TV is that the picture is unbelievably rich and vibrant! (So much so that it takes a little getting use to.) The clarity is so good that it is actually distracting to me. (Though I’m sure I’ll get use to it.) But as an example, I was re-watching Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl and I couldn’t stop noticing the lines on the actors’ faces, individual blades of grass, creases in fabric, and all sorts of other subtle details long enough to pay attention to the actual movie! OK – so maybe that is more of a general HDTV thing and has less to do with the Samsung TV? I don’t know. Again – this is my first HDTV ever.
The Samsung TV is incredibly thin. This was one of the things that really drew my attention to this TV when I was doing my comparative shopping. Flat panel TV’s are an order of magnitude thinner than their larger CRT cousins, but this Samsung TV takes the thinness to a whole new level.
I’ve read that this particular TV uses less power than standard flat panel TV’s. While I’m not a tree-hugging hippie, I do prefer to be a good steward of the planet whenever possible. But more practical is the fact that less power consumption = less heat generated. I live in Florida so I prefer electronics that don’t radiate lots of heat.
The integrated speakers are functional, but I can’t imagine anyone would spend this much money on a TV and be satisfied with the integrated speakers. I’m not taking points off the review for the relatively lousy speakers because I believe lousy speakers are par for the course with flat panel TV’s. (Or TV’s in general really. Even CRT TV’s have pretty lousy built-in speakers.) If you really want a high quality audio experience, you know you’re going to have to use external speakers.
I can’t say much about the input options. I bought a Samsung Blu-ray player at the same time I got the TV and I got an HDMI cable to hook up between the two devices. It “just worked.” The Samsung TV / Blu-ray player seem to be a good match. When I put in a DVD or Blu-ray disc, the TV turns on automatically and switches to the correct HDMI input. But otherwise I don’t have any devices plugged into this TV yet. I don’t have cable or satellite or a video game system.
I would suggest that anyone who buys this TV should try to put the TV in a room without any windows or bright lights facing it. I bought this TV for my bedroom and it sits about 12 feet directly in front of my bedroom window. Fortunately the window is on the backside of the house and has a thick blind over it, otherwise I think the reflection from the window would be overwhelming during the day.
The TV is certainly bright and vibrant enough to watch in daylight conditions, that’s not the issue. The issue is the amount of reflection on the TV screen. During the day, I can see the reflection from the edge of my window. It’s fairly subtle and I can easily address this by buying a decorative curtain to place over my window, but it is something that I think is worth pointing out. If you know you’re going to have your TV in front of a big window, it could be a major distraction if you can’t cover the window properly.

I have genetic dark circles. I am a man and I used to cover them up with concealer. I have done that for years. All it did was hide it and make it worse.
I searched for a solution to my problem rather than a mask for it and I found Under Eye Bryten. I have been using it less than 2 weeks and already see a big improvement. The pump on the container gives you the exact amount you need in one easy push as well. I don’t know why stores don’t carry this.
Women notice as well. My ex-girlfriend noticed and she is a cosmotologist. I am finally starting to look healthy. I looked like a raccoon before. For the price this product is a godsend for dark circles. A solution rather than a coverup.

I bought this item on a clearance bin so I took a chance. I had already purchased dark under eye products from $50+ and they didnt work so I figured, spending $5 wouldn’t hurt. I didn’t have much hopes for this product but I am truly amazed. I smoothed it on my darkest eye before bedtime and I immediately saw a difference the next day. I have been using it for a couple of weeks already and when I wear it, my eyes look younger and the wrinkles seem finer, not sure if its this eye cream alone or the combination of facial creams along with this but I’m extremely happy. My dark circles are much better, I don’t even use concealer anymore.

I waited a month or so to give my results and opinion. Nothing worse than someone giving a review of any product the day after they receive it without living with it for a while. In any case, let me start by saying that I have had dark circles under my eyes ever since elementary school. It is now that I am on the downside of that hill that it has bothered me more than ever. It made me look even older. Let me also say that I am one of the world’s biggest skeptics with anything. Having said all this…it has indeed worked! Now, the dark circles have not magically disappeared…not even by half, but I would say there is a 25-30% reduction for me. That to me is success and worthwhile. I was not expecting miracles. I also know that the mind is a powerful thing. Was I only imagining a lessening of the dark circles because I wanted it to work? I really don’t believe so especially after someone last week asked if I was getting more sleep since my under eye circles seemed diminished. I see an improvement and will be reordering so I personally give it a thumbs up.

This Hope has been my daily moisturizer for several years. It makes my skin very soft, very healthy looking, and glowing. It makes me look radiant. I have given it as a gift to my sister and to other women, and they have all liked it as much as I have. No one has had any adverse reactions. You can notice a difference after just one use. When I’ve run out and used something else temporarily, I always can see the difference again once I start back up. It is as close as it gets to a miracle cream.
I do not wear makeup, so Hope In A Jar is it. I am 49 years old and I think my skin looks incredible. The friends I have given it to also like to keep a natural look and prefer their skin without heavy creams, thick moisturizers and sunscreens, or makeup.
The women I know who are fans of Hope In A Jar are like me. We’re kind of lazy no-fuss “one cream that does it all” people; instead of one jar of something for one thing, and another for something else—eye creams, night time moisturizers, daytime moisturizers, etc.—we’re the type that wants just one that can do the job and then be done with it. In other words, we don’t have the patience to fuss with our looks a lot, or to spend money buying bunches of different creams to keep track of and remember to use.
Unlike other reviewers, I love the smell, which is not perfumey, but definitely pleasantly distinctive. I use it around my eyes also, and have not had an allergic reaction. It seems, though, that these are the two biggest problems with Hope—the distinctive odor and allergic reactions among some people. I would suggest buying it the first time from somewhere you could return it if you don’t care for it; although in my opinion, this would be unlikely, apparently it is possible. Philosophy now makes another version of Hope In A Jar for sensitive skin; if you know that your skin in tempermental, perhaps it would be better to also try this version. I have stuck with Hope In A Jar because it works so well for me.
It seems expensive, but it is not because it lasts a long, long time. The two-ounce jar lasts me about six months. I use a toner and then Hope In A Jar and that’s it. I’m done with my face in 30 seconds. Plus, it gives me a look that most women use makeup to get, so I think it’s a bargain.

I am very surprised by many of the one star one line reviews here claiming serious allergic reactions. First off, this product has been around for years and is always in the top 10 selling products in Sephora and is in countless magazines as their top picks as well. I can understand how some cleansers, mosturizers etc.. can make certain people break out, rash whatever but most of these one star reviews are quick one liners, by people who only leave this one review (check the “see my other reviews”) and do not have a real name verification. Oh and most were within the same 2wks. Seems to me it is either the same person or moles from competing companies.
Anyway, I have been using this cream for 2wks now and I really like it. I have horrible sensitive combination skin. Dry in many areas but large porses and blackheads in other areas. This is the only heavy moisturizer I have ever used that seems to actually even my skin without weighing it down. Since I do have some oily skin and tend to breakout, I do not use this 2 times a day. I use it at night only. In the am, I use the hope in a bottle. I use only Purity to clean my face with and also use the micropeel system and my face has never looked better. I personally do not think it smells bad, I can’t smell anything to it which I like. What DOES smell bad is the When Hope is Not Enough serum – ugh, that makes me want to gag but if it works – it is totally worth it

From reading the other reviews, it is clear that many do not have the same fortunate experience I did. However, it is not a scam because it worked very well for me.

I find this perfume to be quite interesting and like nothing else I own. I usually wear Noa (cacharel), Une Fleur (chanel), or Pure Grace (philosophy), so I normally like a light floral scent. I was really excited about trying this when it came out, but the first time I smelled this from the bottle, it did not appeal to me, which was a surprise after hearing Oprah rave about it. The second time I thought what the heck and put some on in the store. I found that this perfume develops into quite a “lovely” and sensual fragrance once it has time to interact with your body chemistry. What counts is that my husband likes it on me, just to note: he did not like it when he smelled it straight from the bottle either. This perfume lasts a long time, which is not a surprise since it is eau de parfum. If you are thinking about it, try it out and see how it smells on you because that is what really counts.

I saw on Oprah the intro of LOVELY with Sarah J. Parker. I ordered and was not disappointed. It’s very feminine. It’s a light scent, but it does leave one wanting another whiff. The bottle is a little tricky to hold but it’s a beautiful bottle. I have worn BEAUTIFUL only by Estee Lauder for years, but am now alternating between LOVELY and BEAUTIFUL. I don’t think one would be disappointed

I’ve worn primarily green/citrus scents for years–Hugo Boss Woman, Happy to Be–and was very happy with them. I smelled this first on a scent strip and was intrigued; it had the crispness I like in the greener scents, but also a softness I’ve missed in my scents, an unexpected light musk richness. I’m 30–well beyond wishing to smell ‘cute’–and this fragrance is exactly what I’m growing into, a scent for a sophisticated woman. It’s not old, it’s not young; it’s mature, and equally appropriate with a sweater and jeans or evening wear. The only scent I bother with anymore. I’ve had great success with the life of the scent–I put it on at 8am and my husband can still smell it on me at bedtime–but I prefer that it be subtle enough that only a person standing next to me smell it; perhaps some who find it short-lived prefer a bolder scent.
I’m thrilled with Lovely. I don’t expect to change perfumes again for years.

I have never worn foundation in my life. I hated being able to feel it on there, & I hated the effort of washing it off every night & how long it took to put on. This has solved all those problems. Applying the foundation takes maybe 30 seconds. I don’t feel like I have anything on my face at all. Family was telling me how nice I looked, but when I told them I was wearing foundation they were surpised. It looked so natural. And this stuff won’t hurt your skin if you leave in on at night. So no big hassle when you’re tired & want to go to bed. The starter kit is the way to go; I was going to try just the foundation & was glad I got the starter kit. It’s a really good deal over buying the things seperately as well.

As a makeup artist I have been doing makeup for weddings and special events for almost nine years now.
A vow to my clients is that I will never put anything on their face that I have not tried myself. Therefore, when clients started asking about bare minerals and whether I would recommend it or not I felt obligated to try it out.
When I try “new” products I put them through a volley of tests.
The first test I put it through I call the “photograph” test.
Some makeups have reflective agents in them that reflect bright likes such as the flash from a camera. While they look normal and well blended in normal lighting conditions they can look comically white in photographs were a flash is used. When doing makeup for weddings it is ESSENTIAL that the makeups I use DO NOT have reflective agents.
I took a photograph of my natural skin in normal lighting, then used a flash. I put on the BM foundation, came back and took two more photographs: one in normal lighting with no flash, one with a flash. I’m pleased to announce that bare minerals DID pass the photograph test.
My second test is the oil test. I have VERY oily skin and so do many of my clients. If it won’t last all day on my skin, how can I expect it to last all day on the skin of a laughing, hugging, drinking, dancing, partying, kissing bride. I was happy to announce that it DID last a BIT longer than other foundations I have used in the past but it did not last as long as I would have liked. Touch ups during the day are essential to all-day wear (or a very good oil-control powder).
I really liked the way it looked and felt on my own skin but there are clients that I would NOT recommend it for.
I have a very strict facial regiment that I go through to keep my skin healthy, clear and fresh. If my skin were not in the healthy shape that it is in because of my regiment I don’t believe bare minerals would be for me.
A healthy regiment is a MUST for this or any makeup. If I get a client who has not taken care of her skin I will not use bare minerals. I will moisturize the face, cover the problem spots and use a different type of foundation. I MAY brush a little over the top to give them a matte finish but it will not be my principle cover up.
Bare Minerals seems to be more about enhancing beautiful skin, not concealing troubled skin.
If you would like to use this product and use it effectively you MUST do the following:
1. MOISTURIZE! Though I recommend this for ALL of my clients it is still essential for Bare Minerals. An expensive foundation, whether bare minerals, or any other brand for that matter, will not be able to give you the moisture your face needs. Find a good moisturizer. Moisturize in the morning and at night.
2. Allow your moisturizer to completely absorb into your skin before you apply Bare Minerals. Because Bare Minerals is a powder it clings to moisture wherever it finds it. If you have any lingering moisturizer on your face it will cling to it and leave you looking caked and pasty. I recommend waiting about five minutes after moisturizing before applying bare minerals.
3. WASH YOUR FACE! Though this product boasts that it is so pure you can sleep in it, that is hogwash. Anything you put on your face for an extended period of time that cannot be absorbed (such as a moisturizer) IS going to clog your pores. I don’t care how “pure” it is. Personally, I wash my makeup off with a gentle foaming cleanser and then I ex foliate with proactiv. I also use proactiv’s toner and repairing lotion when needed, and I ALWAYS moisturize. Because bare minerals is a powder and not a liquid I have found it is a little easier to wash off initially, but because it is a powder and has tiny particles that CAN clog pores, my toner is especially necessary to really get down deep and clean my pores.
Healthy skin is essential to the success of any great look, but bare minerals is NOT a cure to skin problems as it boasts to be. The cure to skin problems is treatment to the best of it’s ability. If you have acne, use an acne wash or talk to a dermatologist. If you have dry skin, moisturize. If you have oily skin, moisturize as well (as many times the body produces MORE oil when you try to dry it out). If you have a rash or any other skin problem, talk to a dermatologist and treat the condition. Makeup is NOT a cure to skin issues, it is an enhancement to the beautiful skin beneath it.
It is true that certain makeups can HELP your skin problems but do not look for makeups to cure your skin issues. If you abandon your skin regiment for a promise of healthy skin from a makeup, nine times out of ten you are going to find your skin problems coming back.
For those who have switched to Bare minerals and seen dramatic improvement in their skin, that is wonderful. It is very likely that a product in your old makeup was harming your skin or a certain product in Bare Minerals is exactly what your skin needed for a boost. Way to go!
Don’t get sucked into the belief that a makeup will cure an issue with your skin. Talk to a dermatologist. Get your skin issues taken care of before you try the makeup and then see.
Also, DO NOT get sucked into the belief that the success of one product within a brand means that everything that brand produces is going to be as good. I get many clients who say, “I ONLY use XYZ…”
There are MANY brands that excel at one or two things but the rest of their products are substandard.
If you find one thing that works FABULOUSLY for your skin or your eyes, or whatever, by all means use it, but don’t throw away the rest of your makeup and go all out for just that ONE brand, you will really miss out on the other one of two GREAT products produced by other brands.
I, myself, have over 20 brands of makeup in my kit. I’ll never be the bride of just ONE brand.
Take care of your skin and you’ll be surprised how many makeups WILL work for you.
AND MOISTURIZE!

I’ve been taking this product for two years now. It was prescribed by my doctor after I stopped smoking and gained quite a bit of weight. I lost 60 pounds but also dieted vigorously and exercised regularly at the gym on the treadmill for 35 minutes. Oily discharge sometimes? you bet, but only when I ate meals with a high fat content. Couple bits of advice: if you feel like you need to fart, don’t. You can’t be sure of what will come out. Restrain yourself until you get to a toilet, just in case. Also, not only fried chicken and fried food have fat. Any kind of red meat has fat content. Rule of thumb for me is if calories from fat are high, I take a pill with the meal. This product is a lifesaver but it only works with diet and exercise.

When I started taking alli, I was 235 lbs and in less than 5 months, I lost over 35 lbs. Besides taking alli, I did exercise and monitor what I ate, but by no means was I being very strict. I would try to exercise for at least 30 minutes about 2-3 times a week and do stretches in the morning before work. I still indulged in the foods I loved on the weekends (like pizza & chicken wings), but during the weekdays, I would try to limit my calorie intake to 1500-2000 calories a day. Yes, if I hadn’t taken alli, I still would have lost weight, but it would not have been as much.
Remember, you have to burn 3,500 calories to lose 1.0-lb (or eat 3,500 calories to gain 1.0-lb), and your body will burn between 2,000-2,500 calories a day depending on your age, weight, height, and sex. Therefore, if you watch your calorie intake and do some form of exercise (anything is better than nothing), then you will lose weight.
The benefit from taking alli is that it will help reduce the amount of calories your body absorbs even more by blocking a percentage of the fat you consume, and therefore helping you lose even more weight then you would with just diet and exercise alone. However, if you are still binge eating and consuming more than 2,500+ calories a day, alli will not make up for that… it is not a miracle drug. It is intended for people who are on a diet (or at least watching what they eat) and want help to lose a little more weight.
The side-affects from taking alli vary from person to person and just like any other drug, it is not for everybody. For me, the only side-affect I encountered were the “treatment affects” or oily stools. Yes, this kind of side effect is very unpleasant and sometimes inconvenient, but it is also controllable and is a clear indication that the product is working, which is more than I can say for other weight loss pills I’ve tried.
If you eat a bunch of fatty & greasy foods, then you will have more oils (or fat) in your stool because there was more fat for alli to block (demonstrating that it is working). Instead of getting upset and blaming the drug, take it as a lesson that you need to become more disciplined and consider this the consequence for cheating on your diet. Maybe it will help you realize just how bad some of the foods you eat are for you; it was definitely a wake-up call for me.
I’m going to keep using alli, watch my calorie in-take, & exercise (some) and hopefully I will lose another 35-lbs!
